What does on-site asset tagging cost per asset?

KSh 60 per asset for a basic register, or KSh 150 per asset for a comprehensive register with full accounting detail. Both prices exclude VAT and travel outside Nairobi. There is no separate charge for the tags themselves, production is included in the per-asset rate.

What is the actual difference between the two register tiers?

Accepted Answer

The basic tier records what an asset is, where it is and who holds it, enough for a working inventory. The comprehensive tier adds acquisition cost, funding source, depreciation method and rate, accumulated depreciation and net book value, structured to IPSAS or IFRS, ready to reconcile against your ledger. Most audited public bodies need the comprehensive tier.

Do we get a free scanner?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on any on-site project of 500 assets or more, on both the basic and comprehensive tiers. The scanner is the same barcode or QR reader your team will use afterwards to keep the register current, so it isn't a token freebie. Below 500 assets you can still buy a scanner separately or request a stand-alone quote for one.

How is travel outside Nairobi charged?

At cost, transport, accommodation and subsistence, with an exact, itemised figure agreed with you before any work begins. We do not add a percentage mark-up and we do not send a surprise travel line with the final invoice.

How long does a tagging project take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on asset count and site layout rather than a fixed rule, since fieldwork speed varies with access and how spread out assets are. We give a firm schedule at the scoping visit. Tag production itself follows our standard lead times once artwork is approved.

Can you tag assets we haven't got a working register for?

Accepted Answer

Yes, that is the normal starting point for most projects, since very few organisations arrive with a register they fully trust. We run a pre-tagging verification walk-through to establish what actually exists on the ground before tagging, rather than tagging blind against a list we already suspect is wrong. Any gaps found at this stage are logged before a single tag is fixed.

When should we choose your service instead of tagging assets ourselves?

If you have fewer than roughly 200 assets in one building and reasonably reliable records, doing it in-house with tags you order from us is often cheaper. Our service earns its cost on larger, multi-site or poorly documented estates where the reconciliation and register-building work outweighs the saving of doing it yourself.

What happens to discrepancies you find during tagging?

Every discrepancy is documented in a written report, not just corrected silently. That includes assets found but never recorded, assets recorded but not found, and duplicate entries. You decide how to treat each one; we don't make write-off decisions on your behalf.

Do you tag assets outside Nairobi?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we deploy field teams to all 47 counties at the same tag specifications and per-asset pricing as Nairobi. Only the travel cost differs, covering transport, accommodation and subsistence, and that is agreed with you as an exact, itemised figure before work starts. Multi-site organisations can be scheduled as a single project with one consolidated register.

Is tagging the same as a fixed asset register project?

Tagging is the physical and data-capture stage; a fixed asset register project is the accounting outcome it feeds. Our comprehensive tier delivers both together, but if you already have tags in place and only need the accounting register rebuilt, that is a separate, narrower engagement.
