Kenyan shillings (KES), unless we've agreed a different currency in writing before your order is confirmed. We don't maintain separate Rwandan franc pricing, so confirm currency handling with us at quotation stage if that matters for your internal budgeting. Payment for Rwanda orders is typically by bank transfer rather than M-Pesa, and we'll confirm the exchange arrangement and any conversion cost on your side before you commit to the quotation.

Who handles customs clearance into Rwanda?

You or your appointed clearing agent, not us. We can provide the commercial invoice and any documentation needed to support clearance, but we don't act as a customs agent on either the Ugandan transit leg or the Rwandan entry point, and import duty or VAT there is your responsibility unless separately quoted.

Is it worth flying a team to Rwanda for on-site tagging, or should we just order tags?

For smaller projects, shipping finished tags for your own staff to apply is usually more practical and considerably cheaper than a two-border team mobilisation. For larger projects where correct fixing and register accuracy genuinely need our team, we'll quote the on-site option individually so you can compare it against the shipping-only route.

Would a Rwandan or Ugandan supplier be more reliable for us given the transit distance?

If speed and simplicity matter more to you than our specific tag range or register format, a supplier based closer to Kigali may genuinely serve you better, and we'd rather say so than have you find that out after a delayed shipment. If our materials or pricing structure are the right fit, ordering from us remains workable with realistic transit expectations.

How do we pay for a Rwanda order given the cross-border transfer?

Accepted Answer

Bank transfer is generally the most practical method for Rwandan buyers, since M-Pesa Paybill is a Kenya-only service. We'll agree the deposit amount and payment method at quotation stage, 50% is required to start production, with the balance due before or on dispatch.

Can you guarantee a delivery date for a Rwanda shipment?

No, not with confidence, because two customs crossings introduce delay risk outside our control. We can guarantee our Nairobi production lead time and commit to fast, accurate documentation to support clearance, but we won't promise a transit date we can't back up.

Do you offer LPO credit terms for Rwandan institutions?

This is considered case by case, and is generally more complex to arrange for cross-border buyers than for Kenyan institutions given currency and collection considerations. Raise it with us directly at quotation stage rather than assuming standard Kenyan credit terms apply automatically.

Yes, the register-building side of our service isn't affected by cross-border shipping, we can build an IPSAS/IFRS-aligned comprehensive register from your asset list regardless of location, at KSh 150 per asset, and either ship tags for your team to apply or discuss on-site tagging separately.
