No, every tag is manufactured in our Nairobi facility and shipped to Uganda by road. There's no local stock or production line in-country, so lead time for a Ugandan order always includes both our Nairobi production time and the cross-border transit and clearance time on top of it.

What currency are prices quoted in for a Ugandan order?

Accepted Answer

Kenyan shillings (KES), unless we've agreed in writing to quote differently for a specific order. We don't maintain a separate Uganda price list, so it's worth confirming currency and exchange handling with us before you place an order rather than assuming Ugandan shilling pricing.

Who pays import duty and clearing costs in Uganda?

Accepted Answer

You do, as the buyer, unless we've explicitly included duty or clearing fees in a quotation, which we generally don't, since these vary by goods classification and change over time. We can advise generally on what documentation to expect, but we aren't a customs agent and don't handle Ugandan-side clearance ourselves.

How long does an order actually take to arrive in Uganda from order date?

Accepted Answer

Add our standard production lead time (same day up to 200 tags, two working days up to 1,000, from artwork approval) to road transit and border clearance time, which is typically several working days but depends on your clearing agent and border conditions on the day. We can't guarantee an exact combined figure, only the production portion.

Question 5

Do you send a technician team to Uganda for on-site tagging?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this is available, but it's quoted individually rather than at our standard Kenyan on-site rates, because cross-border travel, accommodation and logistics vary significantly depending on where in Uganda the work is. Contact us with the location and asset count and we'll respond within four working hours.

Would a local Ugandan supplier be simpler for a small, urgent order?

Accepted Answer

For a very small or extremely time-sensitive order, a Uganda-based supplier able to deliver same-day locally may genuinely make more sense than waiting on cross-border transit. For larger orders or a specific durability requirement our tags meet, the wait is usually worth it, but we'd rather say this plainly than oversell speed we can't guarantee.

Question 7

Can we pay by bank transfer instead of M-Pesa for a Ugandan order?

Accepted Answer

Yes, bank transfer is the usual method for cross-border orders since M-Pesa Paybill is a Kenyan service. We'll confirm bank details and the deposit amount when we send your quotation, and production begins once the 50% deposit clears. Allow a little extra time for an international transfer to clear compared with M-Pesa, and factor that into your artwork approval timeline if you're working to a fixed collection or shipping date out of Nairobi.

Can you match our Uganda organisation's numbering system across borders?

Accepted Answer

Yes, exactly as we would for a Kenyan customer, send your numbering convention or existing asset list and we print sequentially or matched to it, so nothing needs re-keying once tags clear customs and reach you. Confirm your preferred shipping or courier method early, since cross-border delivery timing depends on your chosen freight arrangement rather than our production schedule, which still runs on the same lead times as any Kenyan order.

Do you offer LPO credit terms for Ugandan institutions?

Accepted Answer

Credit terms are considered case by case for cross-border institutional buyers with a valid purchase order, but they're less straightforward to arrange than for Kenyan institutions given the added currency and cross-border collection considerations. Raise this with us at quotation stage rather than after ordering.

Question 10

What happens if our shipment is delayed or queried at the border?

Accepted Answer

Border clearance is outside our control once goods leave our Nairobi facility, so delays there are between you and your clearing agent or the relevant authority. We can reissue documentation or answer queries about the invoice or goods description promptly if that's what's needed to resolve a hold-up.
