Do you manufacture tags in Tanzania or only ship them there?

We manufacture exclusively in Nairobi and ship completed orders to Tanzania; there's no local production or stock held in-country. Total delivery time is our Nairobi production time plus the transit and customs clearance time on the Tanzanian side, which we don't control.

Is pricing quoted in Tanzanian shillings or Kenyan shillings?

Accepted Answer

Kenyan shillings (KES), unless we've specifically agreed in writing to quote in another currency for your order. If you need a Tanzanian shilling figure for internal budgeting, ask us for the KES quote and convert it yourself, or ask us to confirm a fixed conversion at quotation stage.

Question 3

Who is responsible for import duty and TRA clearance in Tanzania?

Accepted Answer

The buyer is, unless duty or clearing costs are explicitly included in our quotation, which they generally aren't. We can outline what documentation is typically needed, but we are not a customs agent and don't handle Tanzania Revenue Authority clearance ourselves.

How much longer does a Tanzania order take compared to a Nairobi order?

Production time is identical to any Kenyan order, it's the transit and clearance stage that adds time, and that varies by route, border conditions and how quickly your clearing agent processes the shipment. We can only commit to the production portion of the timeline with confidence.

Question 5

Can you send a team to do on-site tagging in Tanzania?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this has been done before, but expect a longer quotation turnaround than our standard four working hours for domestic requests, since travel, accommodation and any applicable work permit arrangements for a visiting team need to be confirmed first. Once those details are settled we itemise transport, accommodation and subsistence exactly as we would for an upcountry Kenyan site, so you receive one clear figure to approve before the team travels.

Would it be easier to find a Tanzanian asset tag supplier instead?

Accepted Answer

If you need something urgently and can't accommodate cross-border transit time, a locally based Tanzanian supplier may serve you faster for a standard requirement. If you specifically need our tag materials, pricing structure or register format, ordering from us cross-border remains straightforward, it just needs the extra transit time built into your planning.

Do you ship via Dar es Salaam or Namanga?

Accepted Answer

Either, depending on where in Tanzania your delivery point is, Namanga suits Arusha and northern Tanzania, while Dar es Salaam-bound freight suits coastal or southern destinations. We'll discuss the most practical route with you or your freight arranger once we know your delivery address.

Question 8

Can we pay in instalments given the added cross-border cost?

Our standard structure is a 50% deposit to start production and the balance before or on dispatch, and this applies to Tanzanian orders too. We don't currently offer extended instalment plans beyond that, though institutions with a valid LPO can discuss credit terms with us directly.

How do we match your tags to our existing Tanzanian asset register?

Send us your numbering convention, prefix or existing asset list and we print sequentially or matched to it exactly, exactly as we would for a Kenyan customer, so there's no re-keying needed once the shipment clears and reaches you. Include any category or department codes already in use so we can replicate the same structure on the printed tag, and flag anything you'd like changed, since it's far easier to adjust before production than after tags are printed.

Question 10

What if our shipment is held up at the Tanzanian border?

Accepted Answer

Once goods leave our Nairobi facility, clearance is a matter between you (or your clearing agent) and Tanzanian customs, and it's outside our control. We can move quickly to reissue or amend documentation such as invoices or goods descriptions if that's what's needed to resolve a hold.
