Yes, most models support loading your register data directly so field staff can look up and update records on-device rather than scanning blind against no reference at all. The exact setup depends on the device and your data format, which we confirm during quoting before any equipment is ordered.

No, the device is the hardware that captures and displays data in the field; the software is what stores, reports and reconciles that data centrally for your whole organisation. The two work together rather than one replacing the other, and most field deployments end up using both alongside each other.
