A clinic with 300 assets comes to KSh 18,000 on the basic tier or KSh 45,000 on the comprehensive tier, excluding VAT and tags. Below 500 assets there is no free scanner, so factor that in if you want to verify yourself later. For very small clinics, buying tags with a numbering schedule and applying them in-house is often the better value decision.

We can work in restricted clinical areas, but only under your infection control rules and supervision, and only in a window your team schedules. We do not enter sterile fields. In practice theatres are tagged during a cleaning or maintenance window, and equipment that cannot be accessed in that window is captured on a later visit rather than left unrecorded.

No, and it should not. A calibration sticker communicates a date to the person standing in front of the machine; the asset tag carries the permanent identity the calibration record is filed against. Keep both. What tagging removes is the ambiguity of two similar machines with no way to tell which calibration certificate belongs to which unit.

It is recorded as an exception with the ward, the date and the register line it belongs to, and your team investigates it before anything is written off. We never quietly delete a line or replace a tag to make the numbers agree. The exceptions schedule is usually the most useful document a first verification produces.

Yes, anodised aluminium tags are well suited to daily disinfection because the graphics sit beneath the anodic layer rather than on the surface. Alcohol wipes and common disinfectants do not remove the number or barcode. We recommend testing a sample against your facility's specific cleaning agents first.

Most equipment that is autoclaved, such as surgical instruments, is too small for a conventional asset tag and is better tracked by tray or set. For larger items exposed to heat, metal tags with mechanical fixing are more reliable than adhesives. Discuss the cycle with us before ordering.

Placing an adhesive tag on an external housing does not normally affect warranty, but you should avoid covering manufacturer labels, serial plates, vents or seals. We advise your biomedical team on safe placement for each device type during the survey so tags never obstruct required markings.

Each tag carries a unique number, often as a QR code, that links to the device's maintenance and calibration history. Biomedical engineers scan the tag to log a service visit or check when the next service is due, reducing missed maintenance and duplicate records across wards.

Yes. We schedule ward work with nursing management, tag quietly, and avoid isolation areas unless your infection control team approves access and protective measures. Technicians follow your hand hygiene and visitor protocols. Theatres and ICU are usually tagged during planned downtime or low-activity periods.
